Dental Implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth for adults of any age. A single tooth, several teeth or a whole set can be replaced. Dental Implants are widely regarded as the 'next best thing' to healthy, natural teeth. Strong and stable, a dental implant restores a lost tooth so that it looks, feels, fits and functions like a natural tooth. A long term solution, Dental Implants can last a lifetime when properly placed and cared for over time.
At Hayden Dental we use a state of the art Implant manufacturer, Straumann. Straumann is one of the global leaders in the manufacturing of Dental Implants and their system accounts for over 4 million of the Dental Implants placed in the last 30 years. The Straumann implant itself has a lifetime warranty against mechanical failure.
Our Principal Dentist, James Hayden is an experienced Implantologist and places all our dental implants on site in Carmarthen. Having gained his certificate in Dental Implantology in 2012, he has since chosen to further his studies in Implant Dentistry and is currently completing a part time Masters Degree with a group of experts at the University of Edge Hill, Liverpool. James was also part of an academic team, who recently had an article 'Factors affecting the complexity of dental implant restoration - what is the current evidence and guidance?' (Wright, Hayden et al 2016) published in the British Dental Journal.

A Dental Implant is a small titanium screw, which is carefully placed in to the jaw bone under local anaesthetic and given time to integrate within the bone. During this period, a temporary tooth is provided so that you can continue with your everyday life. Once the implant has integrated, a tooth is fitted to the top of the implant to act as a replacement for your missing tooth. The operation itself is a fully painless experience and any postoperative symptoms are controlled well with modern analgesics. As described, Implant treatment is usually provided in stages and takes from 2 to 6 months to complete.
